Installing Sentralise on Firefox

There are two ways to install Sentralise on Firefox. The recommended way is through the Mozilla Add-ons page, but it can be manually installed.

Recommended method: Mozilla Add-ons

Sentralise can be easily downloaded and installed from the Mozilla Add-ons store. It's easily to install, and the only way to install on mobile. However, Mozilla takes time to process and validate new updates, so it usually takes a few hours to receive updates.

Alternative method: Temporary Extensions

As part of it's developer toolkit, Firefox lets user load in extensions 'temporarily'. We're going to use this feature to load in the raw version of Sentralise (sometimes called the bundled version).

To get started with this method, you need to download the bundle. It's a relatively small .zip file, so there shouldn't be too many problems.

Download sentralise.zip

Then, to import it into Firefox:

  1. Extract sentralise.zip to somewhere you can keep it (somewhere it won't accidentally be deleted).
  2. Open up the debugging runtime by going to:
    about:debugging#/runtime/this-firefox
  3. Click on 'Load Temporary Add-on...'
  4. Navigate to the folder you extract the bundle to, and select 'manifest.json'.
  5. Voilà! If you now visit the Student Portal, you should be able to log in and use Sentralise.
